The Association of Fundraising Professionals, an individual member association, advances philanthropy through education, training and advocacy based on research, a code of ethical principles and standards of professional practice. The Long Island chapter gives support to professionals in the LI not-for-profit sector.

For more than 40 years, The Association of Fundraising Professionals has been members in 197 chapters in the United States, Canada, Mexico and China to advance philanthropy through advocacy, education, research and certification programs. The Long Island chapter, established in 1985, includes more than 300 members and is one of the fastest-growing chapters in the country.
